Prominent content creator and philanthropist Mitchell Mukoro, widely known as King Mitchy, has released an emotional public apology following weeks of intense social media controversy. In a video posted to her Instagram on Thursday, the influencer expressed deep regret for her recent conduct, which included a distressing live broadcast where she appeared to ingest a harmful substance.
Mitchy specifically addressed the Ooni of Ife, kneeling as she begged for the monarch's forgiveness for dragging his name into the dispute. She also extended apologies to Seyi Tinubu and social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM).
One of the most alarming moments of the feud occurred when Mitchy appeared to drink bleach during a live session. Shortly after, her management falsely claimed she had passed away at a hospital in Abuja—a claim that was quickly debunked by the medical facility involved.
Key Points from the Apology:
Accountability: Mitchy admitted her behavior fell short of her role as a public figure.
The Live Video: She acknowledged the danger of the "bleach video," stating she had disappointed young girls who look up to her.
Seyi Tinubu: She apologized for public disrespect, thanking him for his past support of her charitable work.
VeryDarkMan: She described the activist as a "brother" and admitted she now understands his cause for a better Nigeria.
The feud began in late February after Mitchy announced the rapid renovation of a school in Delta State. The project was backed by Seyi Tinubu and Don Jazzy, but the announcement led to a clash with VeryDarkMan, who accused the influencer of being a political tool. Tensions peaked when Mitchy shared a private conversation with the Ooni of Ife, leading to widespread criticism of her motives.
Amidst the fallout, Seyi Tinubu issued a firm statement denying any private or improper dealings with the influencer.
"I met Mitchy once, in a public setting... I provided financial support toward her NGO activities, just as I have supported many young Nigerians. There has never been a private encounter or secret arrangement." — Seyi Tinubu
