A 35-year-old woman has been officially charged with the attempted murder of global superstar Rihanna. The suspect, identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz of Orlando, Florida, appeared in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday following a violent shooting incident at the singer's residence.
The attack occurred on Sunday afternoon while Rihanna was inside the property. Reports confirm that her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, their three young children, and Rihanna’s mother were all present at the time of the shooting. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Beyond the attempted murder charge, Los Angeles authorities have hit Ortiz with a string of serious felony counts:
Assault with a Firearm: 10 counts of assault involving a semiautomatic weapon.
Discharging a Firearm: 3 counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or vehicle.
Targeted Locations: The gunfire reportedly struck Rihanna's primary residence, a trailer where the singer was situated at the time, and a neighboring property.
The legal filings reveal the broad scope of the danger, as the assault charges cover not only Rihanna and her immediate family but also two members of her household staff and two individuals in the house next door.
